Charles Evans Obituary

April 10, 1947 – April 14, 2025

Charles "Charlie" W. Evans, 78, of Austin, Texas, passed away on April 14, 2025. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Charlie proudly served in the United States Air Force before a long career as a federal law enforcement officer with the Internal Revenue Service.

Charlie was happiest outdoors, spending time at his beloved ranch. He loved hunting, fishing, working the land, and sharing the simple pleasures of a good day's work followed by a cold beer on the back porch. His ranch was a gathering place for family and friends, where stories were told, memories were made, and laughter echoed across the fields.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Cynthia Evans, with whom he shared over 30 years of love and partnership; daughter Tara Smith; step-son Allen Pannell (Scottye); brother Robert Evans; sister Lou Ann Rago; grandchildren Audrey and Gus; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Germaine Evans, and brother Gary Evans.

A celebration of his life will be held on May 2, 2025, from 2-6 pm at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Military services to occur at 3 pm.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Cedar Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center and Comfort of Home Hospice for their compassionate care.
