Commodore Sagely Obituary

Lieutenant Colonel Commodore Hylton Sagely Lieutenant Colonel Commodore Hylton Sagely, 92 passed away on January 19, 2010, after a ten- year battle with Alzheimer's. The youngest of six children, Hylton was born in Dora, Texas, to parents Robert Calvin Sagely and Minnie Vela Norwood. He served not only in WWII, but also in Korea and Vietnam, earning many medals of accommodation, including the distinguished Bronze Star. After retiring from the Air Force in 1972, Hylton worked in real estate, ultimately becoming a member of the "Million Dollar Club" with Century 21. Hylton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Marie Boothe Sagely, his daughters, Patricia Ann Sagely Sweeney (Rick), Diane Sagely Meier (Tim) and Karen Sagely; grandchildren, Hillary Sweeney, Reid Sweeney, Emily Meier Sowers (Thomas), Allyson Meier and Joshua Meier; great- granddaughter, Harley Sowers. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010 in the Davis Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., following the visitation. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Hylton's honor to Cedar Ridge Alzheimer's Center, 2100 South Lakeline Blvd., Cedar Ridge, TX, 78613 or to Odyssey Hospice, 4201 West Parmer Lane, Bldg C, Ste. 100, Austin, TX, 78727.

Jean,Patty,Diane,and Karen,
As unreal as this seems I have just learned of Hylton's passing through the internet. I am so sorry.
I enjoyed getting to know all of you the summer of 1966 when I traveled to Europe and your home in France was my home base. I would love to hear from you when you have time.
