Dean Norris, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Gloria Jean (Keller) Norris whom he married 67 years ago on March 27, 1948.
Dean was employed at Cole Steel for 41 years as a lead-man of the spot welding department and retired from York Imperial Plastics after 20 years of employment. He proudly served his country in the Navy during WW II.
Dean was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Dallastown and the Pacesetters. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 0543 of Red Lion for 38 years.
He loved going to stock car races, hunting and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Gloria, Dean is survived by his four sons, Carl Norris and his wife, Karen, Jeff Norris and his wife, Sheryl, Randy Norris and his wife, Esther and Phil Norris of Michigan; two daughters, Stephanie Arnold and her husband, Merle and Barbara Smith and her husband, Kent; 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six sisters, Estella Bucher, Ann Keller, Bonnie Johnson, Kay Norris, Sharon Wise, and Carol Rebuck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, with Fr. John McCloskey, OFM, cap, officiating. Prior to the funeral mass, a visitation with the family will be held at the church on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 9 a.m.
