Donald Foshee Obituary

(05/18/2003) Donald Ray Foshee was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on October 11, 1950 to Elizabeth Priddy and George Norris Foshee. As a child he moved to Houston, Texas where he grew up. He attended Spring Branch High School and graduated in 1968. He was accepted to UT Austin. He left UT to pursue his first love, playing guitar in a rock and roll band. After several years on the road playing clubs in the South he married Susan Blackwood in 1976. Together they had two beautiful and talented children, Katie Elizabeth, born in 1979 and Eric James, born in 1986. Don was the best dad ever, embracing his role and giving himself selflessly to his parenting. Don was a pioneer in the field of Distance Learning. He is a lifetime member of the Texas Distance Learning Association and has been part of many of the Distance Learning Programs throughout the United States and abroad. Don was preceded in death by his father, George. His passing left a giant hole in his heart he never recovered from. Don died in the place on earth he loved the most, South Padre Island, Texas on May 13, 2003 leaving a grieving family to carry on the best thay can without his wit, charm and guidance. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd., Austin, Texas 78749. In lieu of flowers, the family of Don wishes you to consider a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of America, 8500 N. Mopac Expressway, Suite 401, Austin, Texas 78759 (866) 814-8113 or Alchoholic Anonymous in his memory.
