Earl Clardy Obituary

(04/08/2003) In Memoriam Earl Ennis Clardy Sept. 3, 1916 - March 17, 2003 Earl Ennis Clardy, age 86, of Bastrop, passed away Monday, March 17, 2003. He was born September 3, 1916, in Harwood, Texas. He was a veteran of WW II, who served in the Philippines with the U.S. Army. He was orphaned at an early age, which seemed to make family very important to him. He was a strong father and a very soft grandpa. His memory will remain strong with family and friends that knew him, even those that interrupted his breakfast to buy tomatoes. He was a man of his word and was respected for that. His special joys were children, animals, fishing, music, and his garden. The family would like to give special thanks to the Towers Nursing Home, Smithville, and Lone Star Hospice. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Marrs-Jones- Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Wife, Rudie Mae Henninger Clardy; brothers, Woody Clardy and Elton Clardy; and a sister, Earlene Mullen preceded him in death. He is survived by wife, Alma Lee Corbell Clardy of Bastrop; sons, Dennis W. Clardy and wife, Ginger of Pipe Creek, Texas, Earl D. Clardy and wife, Kay of Austin, Rick L. Clardy and wife, Nan of Cedar Creek; grandsons, Jason Clardy of Houston, Dean Clardy and wife, Abby of Round Rock, Chris Clardy and wife, Kristin of Orlando, Florida; granddaughters, Lisa Clardy of Giddings and Misty Clardy of Austin; a brother, Bud Clardy of Smithville; a sister, Lois Spivey of Liberty Hill; four great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
