Elna Vanderwerf Obituary

Elna Louise Vanderwerf
Elna Louise Vanderwerf, of Austin, Texas, left this life for eternal peace on February 3, 2021 after a prolonged struggle with cancer. She was born August 18, 1949 to John and Eleanor (Newman) Lofquist in Cleveland, Ohio. She is survived by her husband Dennis, son Ryan in Round Rock, Texas, and daughter Lisa in Placerville, California. She has six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She has cousins Bengt and Eva Lofquist, living in Goteborg, Sweden.
Elna had a love of animals since childhood, and had three dogs during her lifetime. She also rescued nine feral cats, and brought them into her home for a better life. She had a love of gardening, British TV mysteries, and reading dramatic novels. She also had an extensive collection of American Girl dolls.
Elna served as a volunteer for several years at Seton Medical Center. We wish to acknowledge the doctors at Texas Oncology, who tirelessly treated her over the past 16 years.
She will be interred in the Resurrection Garden at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church.
