Eric Thomas Obituary

Eric Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 3, 1960. He was the son of the late Clarence Fitzgerald Thomas, Sr. and Doris Huddleston Thomas.
Eric spent his early years in Brooklyn and was educated in parochial schools. The family later moved to Orlando, Florida where Eric graduated from high school. He began his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and completed his studies at Florida Memorial University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and mathematics. He went on to earn his Master of Business Administration degree from Texas State University.
On March 21, 1992, he married Deborah Renee Parker. They were blessed with two children, Nia Renee and Omari Jacob, who were the center of his life and his greatest source of pride and joy. Eric was a dedicated husband and father who was always present and supportive.
Professionally, Eric built a successful career in technology and consulting. He worked as a Salesforce Senior Consultant and Senior Customer Service Success Manager for various companies including Salesforce, Accenture, and Infosys. Known for his analytical insight, dedication, and collaborative spirit, Eric took pride in helping his teams and clients succeed.
Eric loved the Lord Jesus Christ and relied on the guidance of God's principles. He loved all types of music, especially Christmas music, which he started listening to on November 1 every year. He was known for his sense of humor, his love of good food, and his ability to make every gathering feel special.
Eric is survived by his loving wife Deborah Thomas, his children, Nia (Oliver) and Omari; his brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Debra Thomas; and a host of loving aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Doris Thomas, and his sister Wanda Thomas, who now welcome him home with love and peace.
Eric passed from this life on Friday, December 26, 2025. He will be missed, forever loved, and always remembered for the light that he brought into the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on January 9, 2026, at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church located at 8500 Cameron Road, Austin, TX 78754.

Hi Deborah and family of Eric,

I'm really sorry that you have lost Eric's light with us in Austin - he was so friendly, caring, and joyful to be around (Salesforce community on Saturdays). We're going to mourn him with you. We always chatted about South Africa as he had visited there and I had a trip recently that I was planning - he always made sure to ask me about it. Hugs from east Austin, Joelle Charbel

My God My God My God. I just sent him a messege about passing my test. Wondering why I didn't get a response. My feelings is hurt as beingbin this career he has been my mentor in this IT life since 2018 and became a trusted friend and confident. The smile on his face and the energy he gave when talking about his kiddos. I'm just so said to say rest in peace my friend. May God Hold you. I just want to thank you for soooooo much. Hugs and condolences to the family. But damn I'm hurt behind this one.

Eric was one of the first people I met at Salesforce Saturday, and he was a constant source of advice, encouragement and good will. Over the last couple of years we developed a friendship, and Eric was my SF bootcamp and conference buddy. We also deeply appreciated his unwavering support for veterans and military servicemembers, as he had a way of welcoming people into gatherings and groups that made him "one of us" to everyone. We will miss you, friend. Sending thoughts of peace and warmth to Eric's family and friends.

I met Eric through the Salesforce community. Very warm and welcoming person indeed. However, him sitting in my home last New Year's Eve (after his church gathering) created my fondest memories of Eric. He sat at the table and shared memories of his childhood in Brooklyn (or so my own failing memory recalls) with many other friends. It was wonderful to hear his warm memories and views on the neighborhood he grew up in. It was a side of Eric I will cherish for a long time. Well lived, brother Eric. Rest easy in heaven.

It was an honor to call Eric my friend and I'll miss him dearly. I had the pleasure of meeting Eric in the Austin tech community and would spend my Saturdays hanging out with him learning about all things Salesforce. He was always there with a huge smile to volunteer and help. As a fellow early bird we chatted over coffee about our families, where I was privileged to learn that our spouses both work for the city and how I learned all about his kids' robotics teams and college choices. My condolences to Deborah and kids, he was a truly remarkable man. God bless.
