Frances Martin Obituary
Born on April 16, 1949, in Palestine, Texas, to Harold Ray Goodrow and Eunice Virginia Goodrow, Frances was a beacon of strength and resiliency throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and son-in-law, John David Cronkrite.
Frances graduated from Liberty High School in 1967, and shortly after, in 1968, she celebrated a joyous union in marriage with Robert Earl Martin, marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership filled with love and mutual support.
Residing in Austin, Texas, Frances also held deep connections with Palestine and Liberty, Texas. She was integral to the Dogwood Festival committee in Palestine and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, William Findley Chapter. She was a longtime member of the Methodist faith.
Frances's loving memory is cherished by her husband, Robert Earl Martin; her children, Cassandra (Sandy) Lynn Cronkrite, Robert Bryan Martin and his wife Jeanne Anne Martin, and Kathryn Virginia Martin; and her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Cronkrite, Morgan Lynn Cronkrite, Georgia Lee Martin, Robert Davis Martin, Everly McKinzie Martin, and Beatrice Rae Martin. Her siblings, Virginia (Gin) Grace Goodrow, Georgia Ruth Regehr, and Ray McKinzie Goodrow, will also hold her memory dear.
Chapel services to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine, Texas. The graveside services will follow at Mound Prairie Cemetery, Mound Prairie, Texas, with Rev. Geoffrey Lightsey officiating. Pallbearers for the service will include Dan Davis, Mark Davis, Wayne Newton, John Davis, Gene Williams and Brandon DeHart.
Frances's warmth, compassion, and indomitable spirit touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
