H. Boozer Obituary

H. Don Boozer, 80, of Pflugerville, TX, beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend peacefully passed away on June 12, 2022, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. Born January 25, 1942 in Nacogdoches to Harold and Maxie (Sanders) Boozer, he is survived by his wife, Elaine, daughter Brettany H. Boozer, sons Rocky Slagle and Travis Slagle, grandchildren, Evyn Slagle and Michael Slagle, siblings Cathy (Jim) Cook, Bob (Sherry) Boozer, and James (Kristen) Boozer. Don's family moved to Pasadena, TX where Don was on the 1958 State Finalist football team. Don attended Baylor University on football scholarship and was part of the 1963 Bluebonnet Bowl team. He graduated with a Business Administration degree in 1964 and moved to Galveston, where he initially worked for Houston Power and Light before he began to build beach houses. He moved to Austin in 1972 as a building project manager and started his own custom building company in 1976. He married Elaine in 1985 and they moved to Pflugerville, where they became an integral part of the community, with Don serving on many boards, and with his true love of reading, supporting the Pflugerville Library. Don was a major component in promoting professionalism in remodeling. He served as 1995 Chairman of Remodelers Council of Austin, 1997 President Homebuilders of Austin, 1997 Texas Remodeler of the Year, selected Top 50 Remodeling companies in the United States by Remodeling Magazine, and served on Local, State, and National Homebuilding Committees.

There will be a Celebration of Life on August 5, 2022, at 2pm at The Phillips Event Center, 8140 Exchange Drive, Austin. Donations in his memory may be made to Friends of the Pflugerville Library.
