Mr. Heisch was an influential person in my life. I remember taking his Chemistry and Physics class at RRHS in 1985 and 1986 (and not just the day he strung the class up in a line holding hands as he cranked a generator to demonstrate how electricity flows in a circuit). It was a fun and "shocking" experience. Mr. Heisch always was able to bring the sciences alive for me. I deeply appreciate all that he gave us. He is a great man in my book. It is hard to express what he meant to me but I have always remembered him and believe I always will. My deepest condolences to his family and all those whose lives he has touched.

One of the finest teachers I have ever had. I will miss him. He inspired me by his Love of Country, and of teaching at RRHS.

Our sympathies go to out to your family during this time of such great loss.

Although we didn't really know Mr. Heisch, we felt we knew him through his son, Rory.

Having taught Rory in Sunday School during his High School years, we were always impresed by his manners & gentle spirit. We often remarked about the wonderful parents Rory had to raise such a great son.

It was interesting to read the entry from Mark Martinets, & to learn their connection with your famiy. We live across the street from the Martinets, & have lived there 25+ years. It's truely a small world, & we are connected with each other in the body of Christ.

We will pray for God to wrap you in His loving arms & give you peace.

In His Love,

Mark Martinets

It was the first day of class of our Senior year at Round Rock High School. I'm sitting in class wondering what exactly we will learn in "Physics" and the teacher, Mr. Heisch, a gruff looking older man is calling roll....

"Mar-TEE-nits"
I raise my hand and say "um... it's Martinets..."
"Who's your Daddy, son?"
"uh... Patrick Martinets..."
"That's what I thought! I knew him when he was this big." [his hand down by his knee] "It was Mar-TEE-nits then and it'll be Mar-TEE-nits now!"
"yes sir" as the whole class goes "oooooooo...."- talk about intimidating the he|| out of a kid!

Little did I know that Mr. Heisch had grown up in Granger, TX and was best friends with my Uncle Jerry [Martinets]- and apparently they got into all sorts of "trouble" together in that small town. Anyway, thats how he knew my dad when he was just a small boy. What was also funny was that he did the exact same thing to both my younger sisters when they had him! He must have just loved that. I saw Mr. Heisch several times after graduating and he always had a warm smile and a welcome handshake waiting. The last time was about 10 years ago at the Granger High School 50-yr reunioin for his class, for which my uncle had made a special trip down from Colorado to attend. It was very touching to see two best friends recounting memories from 50+ yrs past....

Ironically, my Uncle Jerry passed away just last month. My dad called Mr. Heisch and informed him of his passing... I like to think the two of them are now running around together somewhere.... getting into more "trouble"! ;-)
