My father Jeff D Heard was a Texas Highway patrolman for 40 years & passed in 2005 @ 80 years old. (Stationed in Austin for 35 years). He often told me he was friends with Jeff Mikeska, & would annually attend some big BBQ feed that Mr M would put on for the law enforcement officers down by Columbus or Bastrop. Dad would tell me what a great friend Mr M was. They were of the same greatest generation, Dad in South Pacific doing multiple beach landings at the young age of 17 to 19 with terrible bloody fighting. Dad appreciated Mr M & I appreciated Mr M also even though I dont think I ever met him in person. God bless & rest their souls.
