Joe Fabian Obituary

Mr. Joe Gonzales Fabian Joe Gonzales Fabian, passed away late Sunday night. He had lived in Austin, Texas most of his life. He served in the United States Army and was later employed at U.S. Food Service for 25 Years and retired in 2001. He was also loyally devoted to the different ministries of the Catholic Church serving as a Eucharist Minister, Stephen Minister, and Cursillo leader. However, he found his faithful love of the Lord doing missionary work in Ahuacatlan, Mexico. With the help of his dear friend and mentor Father Frederick Schmidt, C.S.C he was able to serve the community through the love of Jesus Christ. It was in Ahuacatlan, Mexico that he met his beloved wife, Gloria Trejo Fabian and for twenty seven years they were blessed with an unconditional love that never failed. Together the lord allowed them to experience the life of a Catholic family with their three daughters; Elizabeth Fabian, Brenda Fabian and Ashley Fabian, and as a family they share and now grow to carry the legacy of their father into their own families; sons-in-law, Rocky Loera, and Rogelio Adame, grandchildren, Joe Anthony, Nicholas Matthew and Anyela Anece. He will always be an angel to guide and protect them with the breath of life. Mr. Joe G. Fabian was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who through faith, hope and love devoted his religion and his heart to everyone. He always greeted you with a nod of his head, a shake from his hand and a smile to remember. He was a dedicated worker, co-worker and friend. His work for his friends, family and the Lord will continue to shadow him in heaven. During the span of his lifetime, he found strength, courage and support from his entire family. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Trinidad Gonzales, sisters, Theresa Cruz, Nelly Escalante, Mary Ann Schmidt, Andrea Hagan, Amelia Fabian, Sarah Ruiz, Gloria Marie Ontiveros- Flores, brothers, Salvador Fabian, Pedro Fabian, Santiago Fabian, Richard Fabian, Joe Raymond Fabian and their families. Preceding him in death is his father Gregorio Montez Fabian, brothers Eduardo and Santiago and sister Rellecita Fabian. "Lord, make me an instrument of your peace...and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." - St. Francis of Assisi. Mr. Fabian will lie in state from 6:30 p.m. Thursday, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church; with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Father Joe Tomei as celebrant. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery. Please visit this obituary at http://angelfuneralhome.com.
