John Kent Obituary

(07/26/2003) John Michael Kent, age 41 of Brenham, TX, passed away on July 23, 2003. John fought a brave and gallant fight against melanoma of the brain, never losing his sense of humor a lifelong trait his family and friends loved so much in him. John was a Construction Supervisor for Gehan Homes of Houston, TX. He graduated from Kenedy High School in 1980 and South West Texas State University in 1985. John was the world's greatest Spurs fan. John is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Michele Ihrig Kent of Brenham, TX; mother, Tinka and Bill M. Soyars of Onion Creek, Austin TX; son, Ryan Carl Kent of Brenham, TX; sister, Valle and Ron Moorash of Austin, TX, sister, Patti and Billy Hendrix of San Antonio, TX, sister, Annette and David Lovelace of San Antonio, TX.; nephew, Cliff Schramm; nieces, Christi Hajek, Holly Lovelace, Lindsey Hendrix; and great-niece,Kaitlyn Hajek. John is preceded in death by his father, Charles M. Kent Jr.; grandparents, Lloyd and Elvie Huber and Dr. C.M. and Louise Kent. Services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Eckols Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecilia Smith officiating with interment to follow at the Kenedy Cemetery. Memorials may be made out to Melanoma Research Foundation, 23704-5 El Toro Rd. # 206 Lake Forrest, CA. 92630 or www.melanoma.org.
