John PRICE Obituary

PRICE, John Randolph

John Randolph Price, chairman of the Quartus Foundation, an internationally known lecturer and best-selling author, passed away July 25, 2014 following complications from a fall. He was 82 and living in Boerne, Texas.

John was born February 12, 1932 in Alice, Texas, the only child of John and Eva Mae Price. He moved to Refugio, Texas in his teens, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Janis Bryant.

While attending Southwest Texas State College on a track scholarship, he joined the Air Force, where he spent three years stationed in Germany and participated in track meets across Europe. In 1953, he placed first in events at the All-Germany, the 12th Air Force Championship, and the All-Europe meet - winning him a spot in the worldwide Armed Services meet in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A pulled muscle prevented a win, but provided enough days off to marry Jan in Refugio on June 20, 1953.

Following his discharge from the Air Force, he attended the University of Houston, graduating in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio and Television.

Over his corporate career he was executive vice president of a Chicago advertising and public relations agency, and later president and CEO of a Houston-based agency. In 1962, he was named to the first edition of the national Who's Who in Advertising. In the 1970's, He was the recipient of several Grand Prix Awards for best consumer advertising. He also wrote and produced a series of documentary films for the U.S. Department of Energy, for which he received a special commendation for excellence.

In 1981, he and his wife, Jan, formed The Quartus Foundation for Spiritual Research, a non-profit organization.

He and Jan were the originators of World Healing day that began on December 31, 1986, with over 500-million participants worldwide, and the event has continued each year on the same date. In recognition of this effort for peace, they were presented the Light of God Expressing Award by the Association of Unity Churches in 1986.

John is the author of 18 nonfiction books incorporating ancient wisdom, contemporary metaphysics, and spiritual philosophy, including national bestsellers The Superbeings, The Angels Within Us, and The Abundance Book. He is also the author of three fiction books; the third - Once and Once Again - is coming out next month through Balboa Press.

His work has earned national and international awards for contributing to a higher degree of positive living in the world.

John was named one of the world's 500 leading visionaries by the Visionary Project in England in 2007. He was also named the recipient of the 1992 Humanitarian Award presented by the Arizona District of the International New Thought Alliance, and in 1994 he was presented the INTA's International Joseph Murphy Award for his distinguished service provided to the New Thought Movement. In 2009, at the 94th annual International New thought Alliance World Congress, John and Jan were presented The Torch Bearer Award in honor of their work in championing the principles and cause of New Thought.

He is survived by daughters Susan and Leslie.

I have nothing but love and respect for John and for Jan and all I learned through John's books. I read every one of them, delighting in the knowledge that the Spirit of God Within is the Source of our All. My life changed dramatically from all I learned through John. Peace, love, balance, success, wealth - I experience all of it from the profound knowledge that John and Jan imparted. John will always hold a dear place in my heart and although we never met, I felt as though he was a friend.

John Randolph Price and his wife Jan changed my life. They were all I had at one time: John´s books. And now, thanks to them, my life is all it was meant to be: full-filled. I just want Susan and Leslie to know.

How lovely to see the compassion of those appreciating such work, continuing in the entries here. It seems every time I just discover, or re-discover those whom I have appreciated, I find they've already moved on. Blessings to the wonderful legacy this man has left us!

I remember finding Mr. Price's book, "The Success Book", in August of 1998 whilst walking near a lake with two new acquaintances. One of them said to me "This book is exactly what you need!" He was right! I used and LOVED the book then and I love it today (July 29,1019. I've just decided (again) that I REALLY need to apply the ideas in "The Love Book" more consistently. Love IS, after all, the most important thing in life. I LOVE Mr. Price and I deeply appreciate him for having loved himself (and the rest of us) enough to write these great books.

Thank you, Mr. Price.

My condolences to his family and friends.

I remember the very first World Healing Day back in 1986. At the moment, I am reading "The Abundance Book" because it is filled with Love and reminds me to keep my heart & eyes fixed on what is real. As a mother of two daughters myself, I just want to say "How very much You will ALWAYS be loved." Blessings to both of You.

I am so grateful for Johns beautiful work in "The angels within us". This book opened my mind and heart to realize how powerful and loving we can be if we just give ourselves over to God and the benefit of his angels.

I did not realize that Mr. Price transcended. What a wonderful spirit, who has helped me soo much. I was meditating this morning and felt his connection and got online to read some of his quotes, and saw he left his body. I sent Mr. Price a small little book I wrote "Poems From The Source Within' a few years back. He sent me such a wonderful note back that I still have and cherish. Much love to his family. I noticed it is almost the anniversary of his transcendence. I am comforted knowing he is handing Jan's spiritual hands. Love and Light, John G. Poppell.

I was very sadden and taken aback to find that my "mentor" John Randolph Price has passed away. For years I have been singing the praises of his terrific and wonderful book, " The Superbeings". This book "The Superbeings" got me through so much turbulance in my life in the 80's. I felt as though I was alone in the dark and then I found his book. It was as though he took me by my hand and lantern in his other hand and led me out of the dark..........I loved his lessons in that book so much that I typed them out, laminated them and took them every where I went. I bought the paperback book wherever I could find it and gave it to friends and family members. I never went on about how great the lessons were, I just wrote in it , "I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have". I reference back to that book again and again. The world lost a great seer. I'm sure he's in heaven with ALL the other great ones, Ernest Holmes, Mary Baker Eddy, Charles & Myrtle Fillmore just to name a few.
Blessings to his family and friends still here on this plain............

The serendipity that I just experienced with regards to this page about John is stellar! At 6:08 PM this evening I wrote to my friend Anna:

Anna dear,

Thanks again for sharing about your current Science of Mind study! I am reasonably certain that author John Randolph Price can be included among the Science of Mind luminaries.

Scott had gifted me with his "The Angels Within Us" a few years ago and after that I contacted John, told him my mother's maiden name was Price and that we might be distant cousins! John responded very positively!

I've also done his 40-day prosperity program that I enjoyed so much that I kept on doing it much longer that just 40 days! In fact I'm doing it again now for at least another 40 days! Part of one of the ten statements is: "My awareness, understanding and knowledge of the all-providing activity of the Divine Mind within me is my supply."

As I was concluding this message to Anna I searched online for book links and in the process I discovered this page - the very first time I am hearing of John's crossing over. Then I wrote to my friend Scott about this page.

When I had made contact with John a few years ago I asked him whether he visits in San Diego and if so to let us know so we could gather some people together to hear him speak.

I am sorry to hear of John's fall. I know how perilous falls can be for an elder. In my version of heaven on earth every elder would have their own goat that they can milk two or three times a day for the most complete healing food that I know of. (See: Raw Goat Milk Magic: http://www.curezone.org/blogs/f.asp?f=3624)

All warm loving thoughts to John all along his way in universal love!

He IS so admired and loved. Indeed, his teachings/writings has blessed me immensely throughout the years. We know they will continue to be a healing and blessing for many of us and for all those to come.
Greatness prevails!

Peace, Love & continuous Blessings to Leslie and Susan, and all his loved ones!

I will always remember and cherish John. He was an extraordinary teacher and a beautiful human Being. I was blessed to have met him and to have been able to gift him a book I had republished called "Letters From the Light" (later "Letters From the Afterlife"). When I asked John if he might have been Judge Hatch (the supposed writer of the Letters) in a previous life, John immediately replied. "No, I wasn't Judge Hatch. I was Ralph Waldo Emerson." I would not argue with his supposition. I loved and admired Emerson as much as I did John! I am grateful for all that he (and Jan) did to wake up a few human inhabitants of Planet Earth. Goddess knows we could use a few more awakened Beings to guide us through this "interesting" time. - Kathy Hart, Point Reyes Station, CA

December 20, 2014

I just found out about John's transition. I'm reading several of his books yet again and just had a feeling to see what was going on with him. Since he's moved back into non-physical I know he's up to just as much good as he was here for the past many years. What he and Jan brought into the world with and through their work was an continues to be amazing! I had the honor of interviewing John on Exceptional Wisdom Radio when it was still up and running and he was an amazing Superbeing. I highly recommend his books and am really embodying them the 2nd and 3rd time around. Travel well John and I know your energy remains with us here.

I am on the 39th day of The Abundance Meditations (and my third or fourth time doing this) and I heard the news of your father. Know that his legacy is continuing in our hearts, through his writing. The earth has been, and will be uplifted by his wisdom and I'm sure he will be eternally blissful. Bless you all.

We know you are in Heaven with Jan, Walter and all your loved ones. We will miss you and the Truth teachings that you have shared with us, but you will always live in our hearts. Yes, we are part of the Quartus family, and never missed a World Healing Meditation since 1986. Our prayers and comfort to your girls. Thank you for being in our lives.

Alan & I came to know John and Jan thought their great work with Quartus, and through the great friendship with Alan's mother, June Campobello. Knowing them both and interacting with the Quartus as she participated with the group was a wonderful experience that gave her comfort and peace during moments of loss, and has been a bright spot in her life that we are thankful for. So, thank you, John Price, for all the wisdom and comfort that you have brought to our lives and the lives of those you have touched in your lifetime. It is fortunate for us that your books live on. We will always think of you as one of our favorite Superbeings!
