VALDEZ, Juan Our beloved Juan Valdez, age 79, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents Leonardo and Augustina Valdez; sister-in-law, Josephina Valdez; and sister, Concepcion Santillian. Juan is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Tody "Olivia" Valdez; children: Robert (Patsy Cole) Valdez, Jerry Lee (Sandra) Valdez, Glory Valdez, Alice (Encarnacion "Snail") Valdez-Mendoza, Alfred "Freddy" (Trisha) Valdez, Sr., John (Christina) Valdez, and Rachel (Ronnie) Valdez-Vargas; siblings: Esperanza (Frank Sr.) Reyes, Eduardo "Eddie" Valdez, and Ricardo (Dorothy) Valdez; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. The family of Juan Valdez would like to offer a special thank you to MD Anderson, Texas Oncology, Dr. Abilio Munoz, Christopher House, the entire community of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, friends and family. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Mission Funeral Home East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 East 2nd Street, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
