Lisa BARNETT Obituary

BARNETT, Lisa
Dr. Lisa Barnett, age 45, passed away on December 17, 2015. She is survived by her husband Jason Bret Barnett , and son, Mitchell Barnett and other family.

Lisa was a 1988 graduate of Taft High School in San Antonio where she was Senior Class President and was voted as "Most Likely to Succeed" and "Best All-Around." Lisa received a B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Texas in Austin in 1992 and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Texas Chiropractic College in 2001 where she was ranked number one in her class. Lisa practiced in Austin, Texas with her father, Dr. Mike Huneycutt, from 2001-2011 and then opened her own thriving practice in Blanco, Texas in 2011. Since that time and over her years of practice she has gained a reputation as a uniquely intuitive and caring health care provider. She had a unique ability to heal patients with her touch, encouragement and guidance.

Lisa was an active community volunteer in Blanco with associations with the Blanco Schools Parent Teacher Organization and many other community activities. As an example of her caring ways, during the Memorial Day 2015 floods which ravaged many communities along the Blanco River, she provided free care for volunteers to include cadaver dogs. Her nurturing ways were cultivated over time by the influence of her mother, Carol Richardson.

The world is a better place because of Lisa, her love, her guidance, her friendship and her laughter. She has always made the act of giving seem effortless, just part of her everyday life as a mother, a wife, a friend, a healthcare practitioner and a community organizer. She was blessed with countless friends and a loving family-most importantly her husband Bret and their extraordinary 14 year-old son, Mitchell.

The family is grateful to the staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and the Gentiva Hospice and the outpouring of prayer, love and concern by friends and patients.

A memorial service to celebrate Lisa's life will be conducted on January 9, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Community Bible Church Bulverde, 7100 Hwy 281 North, Spring Branch, Texas.

Dr. Huneycutt and the Barnett family,
I was shocked to learn of Lisa's premature passing. I am so sorry for your loss.
Thank you for posting so much information about her life. I was glad I had a chance to learn of her education and personal and professional excellent accomplishments.
I remember the wonderful medical care I always got from the South Austin office starting with Dr. Huneycutt, then Dr. Barnett.
It was a warm, inviting, clean, professional, relaxing office with plenty of convenient parking and so many loyal long term patients.

I was a patient at Dr. Barnett's clinic for 14 months. She was a wonderful, caring person and helped me so much in the short time I knew her. After the first visit to her office, I left knowing I had a new friend. She will be so missed by so many!!! She was a truly special person. God blessed each of us that knew her, just as God blessed her with such a loving heart!

Dr. Lisa Barnett was a beautiful person. I am grateful to have known her even just a little. She was the type of person who made you feel like you were best friends!
She took care of myself, daughter and many people I call friends. Her knowledge of natural med, gave me back a life of no pain, without surgery!!
It is painful to have her gone. I have hope we will see her again, for that I feel so blessed. Rest in Peace Lisa.
For her Husband and son, you are in our family prayers everyday and night.

Dr. Honeycutt and family - so sad to hear of your and our loss. We thought of Lisa as one of our own daughters. Such a sweet and lovely person.

After she moved her practice to Blanco we would call and stop in for a chiropractic treatment to and from our trips to San Antonio and she always took us.

She will be missed.

We loved her dearly.
