Lorraine Brown Obituary

Lorraine Brown
05/16/1929 - 09/03/2025
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Lorraine Marie Brown of Austin, TX, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on Wednesday, September 3, at 7:02 pm, holding her rosary in folded hands.
Lorraine lived life to the fullest always. She always enjoyed good friends and company. She also played golf, played bridge, knitted, and walked (fast) until only a few months before she left this life.
Born on May 16, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Josephine and Stanley Burinski, Lorraine graduated from Nazareth Academy, a Catholic All Girls School in Philadelphia. There she excelled in studies and performed in the school musicals. Her working career started at Corn Exchange Bank in Center City Philadelphia where she reviewed loans.
She wed Frank A. Livolsy of Philadelphia on August 5, 1950. Lorraine raised three children and became a very successful leasing manager of large apartment communities in Pittsburgh and then Atlanta. Among her tenants and friends, she counted Willie Stargell, Roberto Clemente and Mel Blount. She and Frank remained together until his death at 57 in 1984. Though crushed by the loss of Frank, Lorraine continued to live in the same home, golfing, playing bridge and entertaining friends. Ten years later, Lorraine remarried to Bob Brown, extending her family with his four sons and their families. They traveled extensively, often cruising, visiting much of Europe including Lorraine's favorite, Malaga, Spain. Bob passed on just after their eighth anniversary.
Lorraine is survived by a large extended family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even a great grandchild. She will be celebrated in a funeral service at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta, GA, at 1 p.m. October 18, 2025.
