My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so sorry, so sorry for this tragedy to have happened to you and your father. Lou was a great guy and I remember only having fun with him when we met him at the end of our SLIS trip together. He's obviously impacted a lot of lives and you are known by both the company you keep and the memories they keep of you. And he was your father, so that speaks well of him also.
Love, Clinton Lowery

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We knew you through my sister Susie Birkeland, you two were such great friends. We remember with such comfort and gratitude, how you called her, sent her cards, and came out to San Francisco, when she was living her last days. You brought her such joy and peace! And, we got to know you too, and enjoy your bear hugs, smiles, Texas-size stories, and warm hospitality. One of the kindness and most interesting people we ever had the honor to know. You are flying with the angels now. Love, Deb Birkeland and Jack Lindsey.

Lou and I also shared a cab when he lived on Hancock, and even though we hadn't seen each other in years, we somehow kept in touch. His out-of-the-blue calls just to catch up meant more than words can express. Lord, keep and bless this good man.

In your last e-mail to me, after me calling you "Mr. Perryman" several times you told me "Don, you can call me Blue, or you can call me Lou" to this day I think of this and smile. I never got to meet you face to face, but will cherish our chats forever.
God Bless you and your family, friends and fans.
We love ya Lou!

I shared an American-Yellow Taxi (#54) with Lou when he lived on Hancock. A great friend. We spoke a few days ago of his interest in doing a Sam Houston, one-man show that I would help produce for video. You will be missed.

I knew Lou though some wonderful filmmaker types that I met in Austin during the 80's. He was absoulutely the center of things when he walked in the room. I lucked out and got a two week gig in downtown Austin working on the production of Chainsaw II, and I always thought his turn in it was classic character acting. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

"Two pounds of Colombian ground for a paper cone!" Hundreds of times we heard this order from Lou across the counter at Anderson's. We were always cheered to see him coming through the door. He was our dear friend and will be sorely missed in these parts.

I met Lou at a Fangoria convention last year in Austin. He is one of the sweetest people I have ever met, and this horrible tragedy breaks my heart. I will never forget Lou, or the heart to heart conversation we had that day. He truly loved his family and friends and spoke of them so kindly. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with him, his family and friends. Fly high, sweet angel. It was a pleasure to meet you. ~Felicia R.

I was heartbroken to hear about Lou. He was a big guy with a bigger heart, a gentle giant if you will. Perhaps Eagle has someone to commiserate with now. The Texas Film Industry will miss him.

Lou:
I think the closest we worked together is when we played husband and wife in the reading of "Sweetwater." And we were both in "Monster Hunter," aka "Natural Selection." So sorry you're gone. I still needed to know you better and wish I had. Will miss you.

Lou -- what a great guy! I have fond memories of sitting with him in that little house on Hancock, discussing and philosophizing; pondering and laughing, all under the influence of that wonderfully strong iced coffee he used to brew. I'll miss his enthusiasm for life, his quest to understand what he was made of, his creative drive, and his unique take on the problems of the world. But most of all I'll miss his warm, heartfelt laughter.
