Phyllis Rumsey-Hamilton Obituary

Phyllis Sue Rumsey-Hamilton Our beloved Phyllis Sue Rumsey-Hamilton went to be with her loved ones in heaven as the sun was rising on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Phyllis was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on January 21, 1955, to her parents, Lola Virginia and James Robert Rumsey. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Renee and husband, Kenneth Farrar, as well as two grandchildren, Joshua Lee and Lisa Renee. Also survived by three sisters, Barbara Black-Cisneros (Daniel), Karen Long (Rick) Kim Bourgeois (Mel); and two brothers, Jimmy Rumsey, Bob Impson (Charlotte); grandmother, Mildred Hunter; her Aunt Bobby and Uncle David; and many neices and nephews. She lived throughout her youth in McAlester and moved to Austin, Texas in 1973 when she married Dennis Hamilton. She devoted her life and her love to her daughter and her beautiful grandchildren whom she loved very much. Phyllis was known for her bright, beautiful smile and had an amazing way of making people feel special and giving laughter. She had the ablility to make anyone's day a good one, no matter how hard a day she was having. Phyllis was completely selfless in that she would devote time to helping others heal rather than herself. She never met a stranger and she loved her friends and family dearly. Thank you to everyone who loved her and prayed for her during her brief illness. Phyllis will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her, including her cat "Runti" whom she had a special, loving connection with. Special thanks go to her dear friend Duffy Banfield, who spent beautiful time with her during her many treatments and would consistently bring her her favorite bottled water. Please join us in a celebration of her life at Windemere Clubhouse, 16800 Gower Street, Pflugerville, Texas, from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2009.

Jennifer,
I am so sorry about your Mom. Your Uncle Jim had told me she was ill but I didn't realize how ill. I had tried to get in touch. We had some really good times when Jim and I were married. She loved you dearly.
She was beautiful inside and out. She will be missed.
Love,
"Aunt" Roma

Hey, You know it is funny what we remember about people --Phyllis Sue was a lot of fun and a very sweet person.

My favorite memory is from Girl's Christmas party's for Texas Nuclear at Steak & Ale. I can still hear Phyllis yelling "Sweet Knees" at the waiter... We had so much fun together at these parties... she was such a good person... I m very sorry for your loss... you are not alone... many of us remember her with smiles.... Much love, Jenny from Texas Nuclear
