The Martindale Family, I am so sorry to learn of Dan's passing. I first met Dan when we worked together at SWI. Dan can only be described as one of the nicest people I've ever known. He always had a hello and a smile. He was a friend to all. Dan was one of a group who had met working for one agency or another who met occasionally for dinner. It was often a bbq joint. Dan was a wonderful conversationalist and just fun to be around.
I know how much pain your family must be in at this time. Please find comfort in knowing that Dan spent his life making Texas a better place to live. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

To Dan's family- Dan was a customer at a BBQ joint I worked at. He always encouraged me to better myself and get a job with the State, which I finally did over two years ago. His smile, his kindness, and most of all his encouragement was beyond remarkable. My prayers are with him and all of you.

I worked with Dan at the food stamp office. I remember Dan with a smile. My daughter made him a fish screen saver (picture) that made him laugh. Dan had such a love of life (and his corvette) that made him a joy to know. May God grant you the peace in knowing Dan is home.

To the Martindale family, may you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I had the pleasure of working with Dan in Austin. And I remember his sense of humor and remember his story when he tried to get his license plate for his corvette, the young person asked for the plate # and he gave it to him and the person was puzzled because it had few numbers and kept insisting on the additional digits----and Dan just laughed, "it's a classic,it's an old car they didn't have that many numbers on the license plates back then". He was a pleasure to work and had the pleasure to have known him. May you find comfort that many persons across the state has the pleasure of knowing and working with.
