Stanley Seaton Obituary
Stanley L. "Doc" Seaton, M.D. passed away at his home surrounded by family on March 12, 2021. He was 90 years old.
Born October 12, 1930 in Jacksboro, Texas, Stan was the only child of Ed and Aileen Seaton. He graduated from high school at 16 and attended McMurray University in Abilene, where he met and married his wife of 58 years, Millie Seaton. They had 5 children together and eventually settled in Dallas. He attended and graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School, specializing in Psychiatry.
In 1978, Stan started Tangram, a residential treatment program in and around San Marcos, to provide care for adults with cognitive disabilities. After retiring in 1998, he pursued several hobbies, including his childhood love of magic.

I’m saddened to see that I missed his funeral. Dr Seaton a was the only reason I attended Tangram. I remember at the end, my insurance stopped paying & he offered to let me stay in the program until I completed it. He was a brilliant, caring man. I’ll always cherish my time at Tangram & it’s all because of him. I didn’t think much of it then, but now, looking back I can see where I still use many of the things I learned at Tangram & I’m so grateful.

Doc was my boss and my late husbands boss and our dear friend for many years. We went to work for him as staff at Tangram in 1981 at his Ranch in Guadalupe County. Doc's legacy is one of helping hundreds of people recovery from brain injury. His kindness was boundless. I am thankful he was part of my life for so many years. RIP Doc. I know you and Millie are dancing on the streets of gold in Heaven.

I worked at Tangram in 1991/1993. I have great respect for “DOC”!! I will never forget the training I received about Brain Injuries and how the Brain operates. He was awesome. Every 2 weeks we had Seaton Meetings with Doc, client and treatment team. RIP.
