Thomas UTTS Obituary
The beautiful dance that was the life and way of Thomas Christopher Utts ended abruptly and tragically when he fell asleep and hit a tree driving home early Monday morning, August 3rd. Tom was a 2015 graduate of Wimberley HS, an Eagle Scout, a swimmer, a cross country runner, and a crackling source of energy to nearly everyone he encountered. He was only 18.
A force of good naturedness and fun, Tom arrived on this planet two weeks ahead of schedule on February 28th, 1997, and then did his best to stay at least two steps ahead of the rest of this big, big world. Along his always-busy way, Tom slowed long enough to love a large and lively circle of friends, his Wimberley community, his scouting partners in adventure, all animals, especially dogs (as demonstrated by his work at WAG - Wimberley Adoption Group), and - of course - his ever-supportive family.
Left behind to fill a giant Tom-sized hole are parents who loved him with all their hearts: Stephen and Kathy Utts, Josh Cisneros and Paige Hill Oliverio; his sister, Lilly Utts; his half-brother Lukas Oliverio, and 3 half-siblings he was looking forward to meeting, Parris, Sophia, and Gianni; Uncle Jim and Aunt Joy Utts, Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Lee Covington; Cousins Alexandra Utts, James Utts III, Katie Utts, John Kachmar and Brian Kachmar; and so many others who were persuaded by Tom to squeeze the fun out of each day.
A memorial service to celebrate Tom's big life is scheduled for 8 PM Sunday, August 9th at the EmilyAnn Theater & Gardens in Wimberley, TX. Come to laugh, cry, and tell your stories in the warmth of a community that loved and cherished Thomas Christopher Utts. Thomason Funeral Home, Wimberley, TX. (512) 847-2226.

We are devastate at the news that our exuberant, life loving, kind and loving friend is no longer with us. He will always be with us in spirit. We have loved every minute we have shared with your sweet son and daughter. Hunter will especially miss his camp buddy. Each time we go to Lake LBJ, we will see his smiling face and feel his need to enjoy and make the most of every minute. We are praying for your family. Tom graduated with my daughter Kimmie and she also worked with him at PapaHoos. Tonight we ate Tom2 popcorn in his honor. Tom won my heart 5 years ago, shortly after we moved from IL to Wimberley. Kimmie was in 8th grade and I was introduced to Tom a few weeks after school started. I told Kimmie, I like that kid. There was just something about him. Throughout the past 5 years, I would see Tom various places around Wimberley. He always had a smile and I loved when I had the opportunity to chat with him.
Tom made Kimmie laugh. It was never dull when Tom was working. Kimmie had given Tom her free Fiesta Texas ticket that they sent the seniors. Kimmie has season passes so she didn't need the free one. She wanted Tom to have the extra one to bring a friend. That night Kimmie gave Tom the ticket, we spent sometime talking with him after work. He was always a pleasure to talk with and we will miss him deeply.
I loved seeing Tom at PapaHoos with his big smile.

I only met Tom a few times as he visited my children in my home. My son, Jacob, graduated with him and my daughter, Sarah, adored him. She was with him the day before he passed. One night after a gathering, I asked which teen was Tom Utts? He was described as the lively, energetic one with the big smile. I knew immediately which one they were referring to. In a room full of kids, he stood out. I know we will see him again some day, but until then he will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Peace and Love to all.

Our family couldn't wait to see Tom every Thanksgiving at Chain O Lakes. He helped us do puzzles, rode bikes with us, shared pie, watched the Cowboys and always made us laugh.
