Briana Boyd Obituary

Briana Nicole Boyd

March 27, 1985 - September 16, 2012

ALBANY - Briana Nicole Boyd, 27, died Sept. 16 in Albany.

Briana was born to Ed and Tawni Boyd on March 27, 1985, in Springfield. The family moved to Salem in 1987 and Briana grew up there. She graduated from Sprague High School in 2003. Briana moved to Los Angeles to begin her journey toward her dream of working in the fashion industry. She enrolled at the Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising and began her studies in the fall of 2003. Her ultimate goal was to move to the fashion capitals of the world: New York, Milan and Paris. The life she thought would bring her happiness (design, fashion, bright lights) led her down a path that would eventually steal her soul; in one painful 24-hour experience that she never thoroughly recovered from, the light in her eyes went out.

In June 2007, the light of her life, her son, Milan, was born. Her love for Milan was obvious to anyone who saw the sparkle in her eyes and the smile on her face anytime she was with him. Briana's passions also included the Little Mermaid, sunflowers, Ellies, and her pets through her life, Frisco, Madison and Jaggy. From tomboy to bling to amazing fashion sense, oh and did we mention shoes?

Briana is survived by her 5-year-old son, Milan Boyd; parents Ed and Tawni Boyd; brother Chad; sister Lauren; nephew Hayden; niece Brooklyn; grandparents De Baird and Philip Spellmire; three aunts; three uncles; seven cousins; and great-aunts and great-uncles. Briana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene and Gloria Boyd.

A memorial service was Sunday, Sept. 23, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. Briana will be laid to rest at City View Cemetery in Salem.
