Kenneth MacRae Obituary

KEIZER - Kenneth A. MacRae was born April 21, 1918 in Winfred, S.D. to Carl J. and Viola (Reynolds) Root. He and his twin brother, Elwin were adopted as infants by Kenneth A. and Bertha (Wales) MacRae. They were raised in California and later moved to Oregon to attend Oregon State University.Kenneth married Edna Crockett in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his military service, he and Edna moved to Pomona, Calif. They later moved to Corvallis where Kenneth worked for the plywood plant. In 1961, they moved to Keizer where they opened the Shakey’s Pizza Parlor (currently Izzy’s Pizza). Kenneth worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring. He enjoyed watching and participating in sports, especially golf. Kenneth was preceded in death by his twin brother, Elwin MacRae. He is survived by his wife, Edna of Keizer; son, Kenneth A. (Pam) MacRae of Reedsport; daughter, Nanci (Dave) Lowery-Curry of Keizer; grandchildren, Mika L. (Cody) Worden Kevin A. MacRae,  and Danna L. (Quintin) King; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Jared King.Private services will be held. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
