Myrtle Toepfer Obituary
October 27, 1917 - February 21, 2014
STAYTON - Myrtle, 96, died February 21 at her home on Coon Hollow. She was born in Silver Falls City, where her father had homesteaded. Myrtle enjoyed fishing, hunting, canning, singing and playing cards. She was known for her pies and her hospitality of always feeding people and giving to everyone. Myrtle loved her family and loved the Lord. She married Adam Toepfer on June 16, 1936 in Sublimity, he preceded her in death on February 26, 1982. Myrtle is survived by children: Mick (Velma) Toepfer of Scio, Ginny (Clarence) Gruver of Stayton, Lee (Bea) Toepfer of Stayton, Becky (Clyde) Hendren of Turner, Fran (Tim) Elliott of Stayton, Barbie (Gene) Jones of Stayton, Ray Toepfer of Stayton, Fern (Pete) Pierce of Stayton and Dennis (Jane) Toepfer of the Phillippines; sister: Berta Sphoon of Turner; 41 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Leas, brother, Bill Rabens, grandson, Eric Pierce and great-grandson, Lucious Fager. Viewing will be Monday, March 3, 2014 from 12 -8 pm at North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Stayton, where she was a member. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Stayton. Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
