Ann Biance Obituary

Ann Frances Biance, 93, peacefully passed away on July 7, 2018 at Community Hospice -Bailey Center for Caring in St. Augustine, FL. She was born in Albany N.Y. on November 14,1924 and was a blessing to the late Charles F. and Helen E. Dooley Straney. Ann was raised in a loving faith-based home. She was the oldest of four kids: her brother James C. Straney (deceased), her sister Sister Margaret J. Straney, RSM (deceased), and surviving brother William J. Straney. Ann was raised in the Albany NY area and graduated from Vincentian High School. She fell in love with Joseph M. Biance (deceased) and they were married on January 8, 1944, just before he shipped out with the United States Navy in World War II.
After the war they were blessed with four children; Nancy Ann (passed after birth), Michael C., Donna J. and Gregory. After settling into their first home in Latham, NY they later moved to North Miami, Florida in April of 1959. They later lived in Pembroke Pines, Port St. Lucie West and St. Augustine Beach. In each place Ann established long lasting friends who knew her as a caring, fun-loving person with a hearty laugh. She was a devout Catholic who attended church regularly and volunteered at her various parishes throughout her life. She taught her children to give back and was fortunate to be lovingly cared for by them and special caregivers in her golden years.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Her face lit up at the sight of her 21 great-grandchildren. She was known as an excellent baker and decorated her home with great style. Her style extended to her love for fashion and she had a closet filled with stylish hats, leopard prints and anything pink. Ann was the matriarch of her family and was lovingly and jokingly referred to as "Queen Ann." She will be leaving behind brother, William Straney, children; Michael Biance, Donna Ramos (Joe), Greg Biance (Kim), grandchildren; Brian Ramos (Lisa), Katrina Grantham, Wendi Pena (Miguel), Darin Ramos, Bret Biance (Kristen), Justin Biance (Angela), Jason Biance, Amber Ruehe (Sean) and Heather Biance along with the 21 1/2 great-grandchildren; Brady, Matthew, Amalia, Ava, Jordan, Briah, Monroe, Cate, Ireland, Cameron, Tate, Ellanor, Annabella, Norah, Adelaide, Olive, Bennett, Fulton, Avery, Mabel, Hazel and one in the oven.
Ann will always be remembered as a kind, caring and classy lady, who had a deep devotion to God, family and friends. A perfect quote to describe her life is "Not All Can Do Great Things but we Can Do Small Things with Great Love." Her presence made the world a better place. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in St. Augustine on July 28th, 2018 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care in St. Augustine, FL or your local chapter of hospice as an appreciation of their great care.
