Charles Rodwell Lampard

1944 - 2019

Charles Rodwell Lampard, 74, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, at Community Hospice in St. Augustine.

Mr. Lampard is survived by his wife, Vivian, two children: Charles Lampard and Christie Wells. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Jace Wells, Judah Wells, and Eric Lampard; and his sister Donna Catlett. Lampard sincerely loved and supported his family.

Lampard is a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm where he reached the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Four and earned many commendations, including but not limited to the Meritorious Service, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry medals.

He was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Swampscott, Mass., the son of Donald and Phyllis Lampard. The child of an Army NCO himself, Lampard grew up in a number of U.S. states including Massachusetts, Florida, New York and Maryland. After more than 30 years of military service, Lampard settled in South Florida and continued serving his country as a U.S. Customs Agent. Working for America's lead agency in the fight against drug trafficking, Lampard played a significant role in securing Florida's coastal border during his 32 years of service.

A Lutheran Christian, Lampard faithfully supported The Salvation Army charity whose mission it is to "meet human needs in Christ's name without discrimination." Lampard was a Master Mason and member of the Mahi Shrine in South Florida.

A memorial service will be held with military honors at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at Craig Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wags & Whiskers Pet Rescue, St. Augustine are appreciated.
