Dora McDowell Obituary
grandchildren, enjoying arts and crafts, a good game of bingo, and spending her free time crafting care packages for her loved ones.
Dora Mae is survived by her son David "Justin" McDowell and his fiancé Cassidy Miller and their two children Dylan and Ryan, her daughter Susan "Terri" Picard and husband Matthew Picard and their three children Shannon, Aidan and Camden, as well as more friends and family than can be listed. Dora was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years Hubert "Buddy" McDowell.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday June 30 th , 2018 at 10 AM at St. Augustine Memorial Park Cemetery in St Augustine Florida.

Hard to think you have been away for 5 years. I am sure you know that your cousins and school friends from Roanoke miss you a lot and you come up in our conversations often. Dora Mae (or Dormay as us kids always called her) and my mother, Lois, were first cousins and the best of friends growing up in Roanoke VA. I always loved hearing the stories of all of their adventures together. Dora Mae was so dear to my mother and I am glad they remained in touch until my mom's passing in 2015. She was truly a very special woman who meant a lot to so many.

I am truly sorry to hear about Doras' passing. She was married to my cousin Buddy. We had such good times together. I enjoyed it so much when they came to visit us. My prayers are with you all. May God bless you and ease your sorrow.

I am so sorry for your lost. Your mom and I worked together and remained in contact after leaving our employ. I know you will all miss her very much. I am sorry not to be at her memorial today but please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Have known Dora Mae since Grade School. We played in Back Creek as children, and dodgeball,and softball in the field in front of Steel Service Warehouse. All the way through High School. Just the Sweetest, Most Caring Person you could ever meet. Lost touch when we both moved away, but, able to reconnect a few years ago through social Media. Deepest Sympathy to her children, grandchildren, other family and friends.
