A native and lifelong resident of Putnam County, Gary was an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, NASCAR and loved the Florida Gators.
He is survived by his son, Gary M. Wilson, Jr., of St. Augustine; his father and step-mother, William and Leah Wilson of Palatka; mother and step-father, Louetta and Paul Wilson of Middleburg; brother and spouse, Steve and Edie Wilson of Palatka; sister and spouse, Connie and Tony Rice of Orange Park; step-brothers and spouses, Ted and Debra Tilton and Bart and Patricia Tilton, both of San Mateo; step-sisters and spouses, Melisa and Bobby Crosby and Janice and Bill Jernigan, both of Yelvington; two nephews, Brian and Clint Wilson; a niece, Nikki Pascia and several step nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2006 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Bishop Bill Herrington and Elder Bart Tilton, officiating. Friends may call from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home and Crematory in Palatka is in charge of arrangements.
