Harriet P. McDowell, 80, St. Augustine, passed away at Bayview where she had lived for the past six years on July 29, 2010.
Harriet was born to Capt. John and Celia Russell in Key West, Fla.
She owned and operated a construction cleaning company for many years and recently served as the president of the Resident's Committee at Bayview. The most important part of Harriet's life was her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and always remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Harriet is survived by two sons, Thomas and Jeffrey McDowell; three daughters, Patricia Ann Wilbert, Janice Siegel and April Tamboles; sister, Pamela McFarland; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Craig Funeral Home, Crematory and Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.

mom. i cant believe it has been so long ago and it seems like yesterday you left us. i think about you always and i know you and dad are watching me cause i wouldnt of been able to go through my cancer and daily life without you both with me. everyone sais im just like you and im proud of that.sometimes i feel you near people think im crazy but i believe. i love you and miss you both so much. thank you for making me the person i am.

well mom its almost a year and it just feels like eternity. i miss you and miss still talking to you everyday on the phone, weve had so much fun together, tell dad im still fishing... hope yall are happy and like what you see from up there.. i and the rest of us miss you two both very much .i love you both.april

Harriet, I just wanted to thank you for letting us be a part of your life. I know my family is better for the experience of knowing and sharing time with you. We will miss you.. I also wanted to thank you for giving my brother your love and also your terrific daughter and the rest of the family. Again we are better people for knowing you and your family.
