Kevin Schriver Obituary

Kevin Schriver
Kevin L. Schriver, 57, died at home on July 26, 2021 after a brief illness. He grew up in Bainbridge, New York. After graduating from Bainbridge-Guilford High School in 1982, he joined the U. S. Navy and moved to Florida where he made his home for almost 40 years. Kevin served his country proudly for 21 years and retired as an E-8. His shipmates said that he was a great leader and mentor. He owned his own business and worked in the private sector after retiring. He worked hard every day to provide a great life for his family. Kevin loved collecting baseball cards, comic books, and sports memorabilia. His greatest love was his daughter Kelsey who shared his love of collecting comic books and of their French Bulldogs. He also loved vacationing in Hawaii and wearing brightly colored Hawaiian shirts and tennis shoes! He was larger than life. He lived life to the fullest and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him. Private services are planned.
Kevin is survived by Rebecca Schriver, his adored daughter Kelsey Schriver, his loving sister Katrina Schriver Teribury, his uncle Gerald (Jerry) Walke, his cousins, Jackie and David Brown, Gerald (Spike) Walke, Dorothy Farnsworth, Ann Lezer, and Jennifer Garcia, his nieces Ashley Hester, Christina Tate, Bianca Tate, Sarina Tate, Samantha (SamBam) Miller, and Allison Miller, and by his dog Lilly, and his cats Jr. and Trey. Kevin was predeceased by his father Keith E. Schriver, his mother Janice Campbell, and his stepmother Joyce M. Burman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to veteranscommunityproject.org, a 501c organization that provides housing and walk-in services to everyone who took an oath to serve America. We will be donating a brick in Kevin's name and plan to help them build a house next year in Kevin's honor.

Kevin was a great friend and a man of honor. He held many titles during his life - husband, Senior Chief, son, brother, uncle - but the title he took great pride in was "dad". He told me before his last deployment, "I miss you when I´m gone but my heart physically aches for her (Kelsey)!" Our hearts physically ache now but I know we will see you again in heaven. We love you Buster!
