William "Bill" Robert Kokos, 50, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with renal cancer.
Bill was born on Sept. 15, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Jacksonville over 30 years ago and worked managing restaurants, and then working in the mortgage industry for 15 years before starting his own carpentry company called Elegant Custom Cabinetry for the past 8 years.
Bill was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Blackhawks, golfing and playing video games among other sports.
He was always willing to assist others in any way. His greatest joy was spending time with his family where he enjoyed many cookouts with them and friends.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 25 years, Laura Kokos; daughter, Emilee Kokos; son, Ryan Kokos; father and step-mother, Robert and Judy Kokos; a sister Cari Bradley (Chris); aunt, Barbara Kokos, and many other in laws, relatives and wonderful friends.
Bill's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville, FL. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3383 University Blvd. N. , Jacksonville, FL. 32277.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Bill's name to the Community Hospice Anne and Donald McGraw Center for the Caring, 4715 Worrall Way, Jacksonville Florida 32224.

Bill always kept a positive attitude at work, and kept us smiling and motivated in stressful situations. He loved to tease us - "Get on the phone, and get the loan!", and his enthusiasm and humor were contagious. He enjoyed learning about new ideas and cared about his fellow teammates.
