Esther Rutta Obituary
She was born on Feb. 26, 1921, in the town of Sharon, to the late Florian and Matilda (Bushman) Osowski and attended the Bruske School in the town of Dewey. On Nov. 12, 1938, her marriage to Stephen Rutta took place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Torun. Stephen died on Aug. 30, 1972.
Esther had worked at Woolworth's and Hardware Mutual in Stevens Point and was later a homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, bowling, gardening, collecting coins and the walking club.
Survivors include her children, Darlene (Richard) Okray of Stevens Point, and Eugene Rutta of Rosholt; daughter-in-law, Linda Rutta of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Rita (special friend, Bobby Turzinski) Rutta of Wisconsn Rapids, Rene (Jim) Lepinski of Stevens Point, Debbie (special friend, Kenny Napiwocki) Okray of Stevens Point, Donna (Terry) Johnson of Stratford, and Rick (Kris) Okray of Greenwood; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Fr. Chester Osowski of Rudolph, and Edward (Susie) Osowski of Wisconsin Rapids.
Esther was so blessed to have five generations-nine times.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas and Fred; daughter, Donna Rutta; sisters, Regina Kluck, Frances Kluck, Joanna Osowski, Tillie Ruzicko and Theresa Rojic; and brothers, Roman, Nick, Leo, Frank, Henry and Stanley Osowski.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will take place in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday morning in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9 a.m. until the time for Mass, with the rosary being prayed at 10 a.m.
