Hey Tony, I sure am missing you these days. I can't believe how long you've been gone. I miss you on the fields, at my parents house and just around. I will forever have that dance etched in my mind and it will forever bring a smile to my face. You are missed, you are loved and you will never be forgotten. Say hello to my little brother for me and I'll see you on the flip side.

Tocco family; I'm sorry for your loss, as we know Tony "has marched to the beat of a different drummer" ever since we we're kids in Ferguson! He was destined for GREATNESS!!! I'm sorry I'm so late entering anything but I just found out about this tradegy today. I've had to move out of town for health reasons. I will miss him singing to me! We had a kinship for the song "Goody, Goody" & he always sang it for me! Say our prayers & be very good so maybe God will make us His special angels (like Tony) when He finally calls us home to Him!!! My prayers are for all of us who have to live on without Tony in our lives any longer! We should all try harder to be more like him; loving, giving, &supportive of others!!! WE LOVE & MISS YOU TONY!!!!! I can hear your songs in my heart already...sing on!!! Love to all, Sue (Fields) Howery..... formerly on Maurice in Ferguson

Tony was always the brightest star in the room. Always full of energy and reminded all of us that life is too short. You must live life to the fullest. I knew him through Progressive Group Alliance and enjoyed breaking bread with him when I came to see my dad in St Louis.
I'll miss him.

"Live a good life. In the end it is not the years in a life, but the life in the years."
— Abraham Lincoln
I can think of few people I have met throughout the years who would examplify this statement better than Tony.
The courtesy, kindness, and overwhelming generosity could be seen in his every action. He and his family welcomed me into their home on numerous occasions over the last few years. They made me feel welcome, Tony even taking time to speak to me as a friend and confidant. They all treated me as though I were part of their family, and this has meant a great deal to me.
It is with great regret I must pass on my family's condolences from afar to Carla and the rest of the Tocco family. May you, as we saw Tony, continue to pursue life every day with vigor and grace. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

To All family and friends, I met Tony as well as many through the CYC activites in North County. My wife and I also visited him at his restaurant. He was very friendly, genourous, and committed to his goals and directives in life. He did make an impact of what he was involved. He had a great family of which I had the opportunity to coach a few of his daughters. I will miss his friendly disposition, big smile, and words of wisdom.

Dear Tocco Family,
My deepest sympathy for the loss of Tony. As the athletic trainer at STLCC-Forest Park, I became acqainted with Tony long after Christina played volleyball. He was very generous as he regularly donated plastic bags for use in the training room for the Athletics program at Forest Park. He was always pleasant and a true gentleman. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

We are so sorry for your loss and that we did not get to come to the visitation. Our son, Brett, helped do some work on Tony's Lotus at MCP this past summer. Tony made a huge, lasting impression on Brett with his humor, kindness & love for cars. Brett was always talking about him! We met Tony at a car show this summer and we'll never forget the kind remarks he had about our son. We wish we could have known him better. We look forward to seeing him in Heaven. Praying for God's peace & strength for all of you during this very difficult time, Joe, Lisa (& Brett) Santiago

Tony was the most awesome person. Many fond memories at St. Angela CYC dances and many other dances too. Especially the New Years Eve ones. Halloween was great too because he would give my kids big candy bars and the adults got a great beverage too! The best memory of Tony was at our wedding with him in the middle of the dance floor wearing his big cowboy hat - DANCING. Tony was the best and always took great care of us. I will really miss you.

I am sorry for your loss. I have known him for several years and enjoyed the time working with him in the food industry at Suppiger, Lilar, Prime, and now Thomas Marketing.
I will always remember him and all his hugs. His parents used to go to bingo at my church (Holy Family Parish) in Cahokia, IL. He always talked fondly about his wife, children, parents and siblings.
Keep the fond memories alive.

I am a sales person with Bunge Oils that knew Tony for about 15 years. He was always so upbeat, sincere and always loved his vocie mail messages. As our Lord has welcomed him into eternal life, joy and peace, I am sure that his sense of humor will bring joy to so many with him in his new life. May God bless and comfort his family during this difficult time. Rest in peace my friend.

What a kind and caring man! My husband grew up with Tony and we enjoyed his DJing at Sacred Heart when our girls attended school there. He always made it a FUN time!! He was so giving that when he was battling his cancer, he took time out to come and visit my nephew who is fighting with the same cancer as Tony had. He gave Encouragment and Hope, showed Strength and Courage. Like everyone else is saying "What a great guy." Tony will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Peace be with.

There are so many fond memories of living on Arbre Lane with Tony and his family. At Halloween, where being the newer neighbors, we had to stock up on over 600 pieces of candy, because this was the popular street -- at Christmas, watching all the traffic turn on our street to reach Tony's magnificient display! We as the Arbre Lane neighbors also had the priviledge of the tailgates in his garage when the Rams were really something, burning the Sage, and the the wonderful food he provided! My family has wonderful memories of those times, I really miss those days now...
Tony was truly a one-of-a-kind individual and sadly, gone too soon!
I can still hear him saying "how you doing babe? and take care babe!"
Now we should be saying, "thank you for taking care of us, Tony!"

It brings a tear to my eye to know that I will never see Tony in this world again. We both grew up in Ferguson, playing football on the lot behind the tracks, and hanging out at Chuck a Burger. We spent many hours together during those years. I hold fond memories of Tony and think about him from time to time wondering what he is doing. He is now a guardian angel, and like the rest of his life, the job will be done very well.
May he rest in peace and his family be blessed by the touch's that he has shared with you.

Carla and family,
Tony and all of you have been an extended part of our family for quite some time. He changed so many of our lives and brought so much happiness to us I just cannot seem to wrap my head around this. We all love him very much and are so very grateful to have you in our lives. I have never known someone who could light up a room the way Tony did. He was the laughter, joy, and king of the dance floor at every event. He is soooo loved and will be truly missed. We love you and are praying for you.

Carla, girls and family;
Anyone lucky enough to meet Tony was truly Blessed. I had the honor of knowing Tony and your family through my parents and as a fellow umpire. Tony touched every person he met. His love of life, his knack for bringing joy and laughter in every room he entered. His sense of fairness and responsibility are all traits that God gave Tony an abundance of . My fondest memory is the night of my parents anniversary party when Tony took just a few minutes of his time and gave me a happy memory to last me a lifetime. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of dancing with Tony knows what I am talking about.
The love, laughter and joy he has brought to my parents/family is something that no one can take away. As our bracelets say, "He will never walk alone".
You are home now Tony and at peace. Keep an eye on us and help us all to follow in your footsteps. Help us to continue with the work you started.
Thank you God for sharing Tony with us. I will see you on the ballfields in heaven Tony. Remember, "It Aint Nothin Till We Call It".
God Bless and Keep Us All.

He was never short a joke (bad or good). No matter how stressed or busy I was when he called, I was forced to slow down and listen to a joke. Somehow after the call I wouldn't be as stessed. And on the rare occation I did get to see him, a hug came with the joke, and what a great hug it would be. He'd hug you like he meant it, what an awsome quality to have. I'll miss those bad jokes and the good hugs.

Dear Carla, Lorraine, Christina,Nick, Peter,family,
Our prayers are for you and for Tony. We first met Tony and Carla at a St. Patricks dance in 1987 at St. Angela Merici. Patty and I asked ourselves, "Who is this great dancer doing the splits?" Later as I got to know Tony better from teaching his daughter Christina and nephews Nick and Peter in PSR, I found that he was fiercely loyal to his family, a quality I greatly admire. When I asked him how he did the splits at his age without hurting himself, he told me he had been doing them all his life. He told me how as a young actor at McCluer North he had leaped from the rooftop set in the play, Fiddler on the Roof" into a split. It was a show stopper. The last time I saw Tony was when he hosted the wedding reception dinner for Katie Melton and her husband Scott, and yes he did leap from the stage at the Machinist's Hall to the dance floor into a split. Tony, I love you, I'm glad I knew you, and when we meet again, I want you to show me how to do that split. This how I remember you in my mind's eye, in mid air, head back, arms out, leaping for joy and landing with great style into a split.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Although I didn't get to see Tony very often, whenever we ran into each other we would always "catch up" on things, and what always stood out the most was how happy he was and how proud he was of his family. Only the Best
A heart of gold stopped beating,
two shining eyes at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove,
He only takes the best.
God knows you had to leave us,
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day He took you home.
To some you are forgotten,
to others just part of the past,
but to us who loved and lost you,
the memory will always last.
Ciao for now Tony~

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord

Carla, please accept Marianne's and my sympathy for your loss. Tony was a great friend, and always more concerned with how someone else was doing, instead of his final battle. We had the pleasure of knowing both of you the past 18 years through ASA, and we'll always cherish the memories he gave us. Rest assured, he's talking St. Peter's ear off right now!
