Mrs. Dowd was very special to me. As is her whole family. As a neighbor growing up she was a beacon and port in the storm. My family was normally in turmoil and she was always someone who would provide loving kindness. No matter how much she had on her plate, and that she did, she made you feel special and part of her family. Her fantastic children are a testament to her goodness. She will be sorely missed.

Dear Dowd Family. I was broken hearted to hear of your Mother's passing. I still remember her as a little girl coming to our house on Bernice Avenue in Kirkwood to see my Mom. They were dear long term friends. And I last saw her in May, 2015 when she was at my Mother's funeral. "Mary," she said as I was walking out of the church, "I will miss your Mother so much". I will miss you Mrs. Dowd. She was the definition of a truly lovely lady. Mary Leyhe Burke, Healdsburg, CA

From childhood on, I always found an occasion with the Dowd's to be filled with great energy, laughter and excitement. An invigorating experience, and always at the center of the fun was our beloved Carol with her perfectly wonderful smile and big hug to greet you. Her life was filled to the brim with awe inspiring experiences and complete love from all who shared the joy of her life. She will be missed deeply. It was truly a privilege to have know Carol Dowd. To all the Dowd's we send our Love and prayers, Mark and Barbara Thompson

I am so sorry to hear. She was a wonderful lady. I loved it when she would call into the office and say, "Carol Number Three, this is Carol Number One!" Her daughter Carol was Number Two and I was honored that she referred to me as Carol Number Three!
