Dennis L. Schaefer

Schaefer, Dennis L. passed away peacefully, on Sunday November 22, 2009 with his wife Karen (nee Callier), son Richard and daughter-in-law Jennifer by his side. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother to Bill Schaefer, Uncle, Brother-in-law, and friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him. Spending time with his family was the most important thing to him. Denny loved sports especially playing Slow Pitch Softball. He was inducted into the Sportsman's Hall of Fame. He was introduced to soccer when he coached Richard's team in Virginia Beach. He coached his son's elementary basketball team in Eureka. He enjoyed going to Mizzou and watching games with his son and friends. He worked for McDonnell Douglas for 35 years and retired in 1996. When he moved to Eureka he became involved in the West St Louis County Lions and became President of the organization. He joined the Eureka-Pacific Elks and served two terms as Exalted Ruler at his Lodge, he was PDDGER and Past Vice President of East Central. Services: A Memorial Celebration will start at 3 p.m., at FOREVER OAK HILL Funeral Home, (hwy 44 and Big Bend, Kirkwood, MO 63122 on Saturday, November 28, 2009, with a celebration immediately following concluding at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Denny's wish was for his Granddaughter's Grace and Elle's education.
