Williamson, Donna (nee Decker)
Donna Decker Williamson of Webster Groves, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2024, at the age of 79. Donna lived a life brimming with love, laughter, and a passion for people.
Donna shared 54 joyful years of marriage with Fred Williamson, marked by adventure and unwavering support. She was a loving mother to Jennifer Williamson Riley and Lindsay Williamson (Mark Messier) and a devoted grandmother to Camryn, Quinn, Savannah, Erin Riley, and Olive and Frederick Messier. Donna played a significant role in the raising of her first grandchild, Camryn, creating an unbreakable bond between the two. She was also a cherished sister to Christy Decker Chapman and Antoinette "Toni" Decker, and her many nieces and nephews, held a special place in her heart. Donna's warm smile and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her.
A 1963 graduate of Ladue High School, Donna earned her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Missouri, exemplifying her commitment to learning. She and Fred spent years in California before returning to St. Louis to open Now and Then Gifts and Flowers in Warson Woods, blending her love for flowers and connecting with people.
Donna's true calling was education. For 44 years, she inspired countless students, primarily at Hudson Elementary School in Webster Groves, often teaching in Spanish. Even in retirement, she continued to shape young minds as a substitute teacher at Forsyth School.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4-7pm at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Camp Wyman
