Edward Malec Obituary

Malec, Edward Joseph Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Tues., Apr. 9, 2013. Dear husband of Helen Malec; dear father of Carl, Irene (Scot Woollard), Joseph (Suzanne) and the late Cathy; dear grand-father of Paul, Aaron, Connor & Molly. Edward served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Nicolet Forest for 2 years then volunteered to serve in the Army during WWII. He received 2 purple hearts, a bronze star, was in the Normandy Invasion, Battle of the Bulge and Battle of Hurtgen Forest. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, was an assistant scoutmaster for Troop 681 & Troop 981, and a chemist at Monsanto for 35 years. He loved reading, music, travel and, most of all, family. Services: Visitation Sun. Apr. 14, 2-4 p.m. at BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Funeral Mass Mon., 1 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 1510 Bopp Rd. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
