Gene was one of my dearest friends. We shared many joys and tragedies through the years, way too many to mention. In our younger days we spent many hours on the rivers and in the woods. In later years we spent many hours in colorado on horses in the wilderness . I never argued with him much, I just let him think he was right about everything, but believe me, he knew better. He will remain a part of me forever. We have a bond which is beyond explanation. I was fortunate enough to spend time with him these last months and he was content and felt he had lived a full life. I am grateful he is no longer in pain. My heart goes out to his family.. Thanks to his family for being so kind and gracious to me. Carol Bruen Kiese

I got to know Gene through Landmark Realtors. I always enjoyed talking to him; he liked to give everyone hell but there was always a sweetness to it (of course, he didn't want you to see that). Gene touched many lives through his work, and I don't think he realized what an impact he made on so many. Life won't be the same without Gene Meyer; I feel lucky that I was able to know him. You will be missed but never forgotten. Colleen

I was a camper when I first met Gene. Then I worked under him at camp. Lost touch until in our 60s. and we became friends. He was a great listener and advice giver.
Honest, trustworthy and a man of his word.. great character. There's a big hole in my heart.
See you on the flip side dear friend

Gene was a wonderful man. An extremely talented contractor and most important a very good and close friend. A regular for over 40 years with the card group. Nancy, Katie, Kristi and I miss you.

Gene and I were about the same age growing up as cousins, and as such, we had the fun of childhood and family during those early years. It leaves such an impression for the rest of your life, and as well, so did Gene. He was a fun loving, caring, gentle giant. Gene may you rest in peace and I know you will keep watch over your family every day. Bless you! To Aunt Clara, family and friends, our deepest sympathy and prayers for you. May peace surround all with wonderful memories always.
