H. Yale Muhm

1937 - 2025

Dr. H. Yale Muhm passed away on September 3, 2025 in his home in Warren County, Missouri. Yale was born June 10, 1937 in St. Charles, Missouri, son of Harvard F. Muhm and Verna J. Muhm. He graduated from Yale University and then completed his MD degree from Columbia University. After serving as a major in the US Army in Vietnam, Yale returned to St. Charles to open his surgical practice. He helped thousands of patients in his career and was widely recognized for his careful skill and outstanding results.

Yale is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 48 years, Alicia A. Muhm (nee Hunt); his children, Tanya S. Muhm, Harvard W. Muhm (Lisa Adams), Jeffrey J. Vietmeier (Linda), and Jason Y. Muhm (Anna); and his grandchildren, Grace G. Muhm, Samuel W. Myers, H. Maximilian Muhm, Jacob W. Myers, and Benjamin O. Muhm; his sister, Mona Vieregg; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Yale and Alicia were adventurous travelers who saw the world together, from Africa to Alaska and all places in between. They were avid collectors of objects and stories they shared generously with others. Yale loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoying musical and theatre performances, Kansas City Chiefs football, meals with friends, and visiting family. But his real passion was his farm: pursuing conservation efforts, hunting, and enjoying the flora and fauna of Missouri.

Visitation will be held at Dardenne Presbyterian Church, 7400 S Outer Rd 364, Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, on Thursday, September 25, from 9:00am to 11:00am, with a memorial service to follow.
