It is very meaningful to me to remember Heinz, a wonderful empathetic friend and business colleague. I was extremely happy that Phoenix distributed a number of my films and always enjoyed the relationship. We were separated by an ocean , since I and my family are Israel-based.... I do remember that Heinz had an apartment he´d bought somewhere in the Haifa area, and assume it was sold along the way or after his passing.
I was a visitor at the Phoenix office on Park Ave. in NYC, Also at his NY apartment, and also on one occasion in St Louis. I also remember some enjoyable time together at MIP in Cannes (France).

Heinz was a wonderful gentleman Whose presence and memory should be a blessing and inspiration to all his family, children and grandchildren both. Herb Krosney

Heinz was a great man. I think of him often. I enjoyed our friendship and our bridge partnership until I left Vancouver in 2007.

I had a lot of respect for Mr.Gelles. He always made me laugh. He was a true gentleman with a great sence of humor. He will truly be missed. Sincerely, Lesa with Dr.Greenberg's office.

I ate dinner often with Heinz at the boys table at Holladay when I visited with my mom, Beth Loprinzi. My mom and I loved him. I've never met anyone like him! We miss him

I am extremely sorry to hear about Heinz's passing. I was so fond of Heinz,a wonderful man, and he was always encouraging to me as a (then) young filmaker. Phoenix Films took on a number of my films (A People Chosen, Noah's Park) and I was always in contact through the New York years, and I later visited with him and was his guest in St. Louis. (At the time he was commuting from his NY apartment in the 50s).
My wife, Mary Stewart Krosney, and I, send our condolences to the entire family and all those connected with Heinz, from Motza Illit, the village in Israel where we live.
