Herman Miller Obituary
April 30, 1941 - May 23, 2025
Herman Richard "Dick" Miller, age 84, fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church, passed peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, in Tampa, FL. Born on April 30, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, Dick led a life marked by curiosity, dedication, and deep affection for family and friends. He lived in various places during his life as he pursued his career in the petroleum industry and eventually settled with his wife Ann in Savannah, Ga in retirement. He is survived by his children Rick (Cara), Greg (Joanna), Brad (Sharon), and Peggy (Lorenzo Mastrandrea); 13 grandchildren; sister Mary Grace Godfrey (Chips); sister-in-law Caron Averill O'Dower (Ed); and brother-in-law Dale West. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman C. Miller and Grace Novy Miller; wife Ann Averill Miller; sister Barbara West; daughter-in-law Jamey Lynn Miller; and brother-in-law Michael Morse. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Annunziata with interment at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, MO on July 26, 2025. A private reception will follow.

Sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was my big brother as I pledged Sig Ep in the fall of 1961 at Missouri School Mines. A big portion of my success as an engineer is the study habits instilled on me by Dick from 7 to 10 pm each weekday evening. He was probably the tallest person I had meet up until that time also. Ken

I recruited Dick into Sig Ep. When I called on him at his brick home on Adams/Lockwood in Kirkwood, his father asked which "Lodge" I represented. I also emember that he owned a big o'l CuCu Clock with a Sig ep engraving.
