Marilyn Evensen you will be greatly missed. You are loved by SO many! I remember all those years ago when I was young and naive and you always welcomed me into your home. After I got pregnant with Melissa, you welcomed her whole heartily into your family and always had a special relationship with her. You always found a way to include my other kids at Christmas and their birthdays too. I remember all the time and effort you poured into your African violets. They were so beautiful. You and Ralph were always amazing grandparents. I’m so happy you both can be reunited again! You will be missed here greatly.

Marilyn... My friend, who shares the delightful position of grandmother to one of my granddaughters, Melissa Golightly. Also, a mutual great and great-great grandmother to Melissa's children and mine. When Melissa started school in kindergarten, I was grateful, tho a bit jealous, when Marilyn would take Melissa to buy new clothing for the coming school year. These same feelings would come to me every year as it happened each new school year. I saw the results of Marilyn's loving heart. I never knew that would happen in a family. I wanted to be able to do such kindnesses for others, too. After Marilyn's husband passed, I suggested to my husband that we treat Marilyn to lunch at a restaurant of her choice. I felt so good to be able to do something kind for her. And, you know what? After my husband passed some years later, she made an arrangement to treat me to lunch at a restaurant of my choice. Just two widows enjoying the similarities affecting us both. We exchanged Christmas cards every year since we became "family. I will miss her. She inspired me to be creative in relationships to bring simple joys to others. I've got to stop typing. I don't see too well anymore and it's harder when tears get in the way. This is not goodbye, dear friend. I look forward to continuing to share our similarities.
