Hoeing, Michael Gerard He was born on April 15, 1953 and passed away on March 21, 2014 at St. Anthony's Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Hoeing and mother Laurelle (nee Wiese) and his grandparents. He was baptized on April 26, 1953 and confirmed on June 1, 1961. He received his last rights on March 17, 2014. He is survived by his wife Joyce (nee Steiger) and his two wonderful children Michelle and Nicholaus. Sisters: Mary (Joe) Altnether, Kathy (Gene) Niehoff, Betty Hoeing, Joanne (Mike) Cronin, Laura Hoeing, Peggy Hoeing, Monica (Phil) Fingerhut, and brothers: Joseph (Barb) Hoeing, Gerry (Barb) Hoeing, Bob (Lena) Hoeing, John (Nancy) Hoeing, Tim Hoeing and Tony (Margie) Hoeing. In-laws: Willis and Doris (nee Mehrtens) Steiger, brother-in-law of Jerry (Linda) Steiger and Janice (Steve) Ceriotti; our dear uncle and friend. Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. , Tuesday, March 25, 9:30 a.m. to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the St. Louis Zoo Friend's Association. Visitation Monday 4-8 p.m.

My brother, you were tough to beat at the card game Hearts. You always seemed to know exactly what I would pass you, and you always passed me the worst three I could imagine. You were tough, and I loved it. I like to think that, with your final hand, you ran the cards; sure, you pulled the dreaded "death card", but you also took all 13 hearts as well --- those of your siblings. You've made us all very happy, and enriched out lives immeasurably. Your light will continue to shine through Joyce, and Michelle, and Nicholas, and all of us.
