I am so sorry to hear about Mike. I had stopped by the church tonight and seeing all the people there for him showed what kind of man he was. I had spoken with Joe who obviously loved him very much and will miss him. I will miss answering the phone and hearing "Hey Red" and then him saying something that made me roar with laughter. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time. Mike often mentioned how proud he was of his daughters.

I am so sad to hear about Mike. He truly is the most generous person I have ever met. He is the standard I use for a parent, boss, mentor and friend. He played all those roles in my life. His humor and ability make everyone feel special was contagious. A day doesnt go by that I don't try to use the example he set for me. I feel so fortunate to have been part of his life.

It's at times like this that we turn to God and ask: WHY? Sadly, the only response we get is silence. Unfortunately, Our Lord does not share His plans with us. All we can do is place our hope and trust in God: Hope that God will fulfill His promise of eternal life for Mike, and Trust that God knows what He is doing and He will never abandon us. It is O.K. to be angry with God and cry over Mike's passing. After all, Jesus cried when His friend, Lazurus, died. Mike has received his eternal reward in God's time, and not during our time. I know Mike was close to Our Lord, because he shared the love of God with me and his many other customers. May God grant Mike eternal peace.
