Norman Forrest Obituary

Forrest, Norman Glen Sr. , fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Mon., Nov. 14, 2005 at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of 63 years of the late Dorothy Jean Forrest (nee Boyet); dear father of N. Glen Jr. (Kathy) Forrest and Charles D. (Joanna) Forrest; dear papa and grandpa of Andrea (Edward), Scott (Heather), Emily (Chad), Mindi, Michael, Jennifer, Joe, Deanna and Eric; dear great-grandfather of Ryan, Eric, Anthony, Lauren and C.J.; dear son of stepmother Helen Forrest; dear brother of J. 'Don' Forrest and Yvonne Salyer; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and loyal friend to many. His father, Otis B. Forrest and mother, M. Elizabeth Rausch (Forrest), stepfather, Karl Rausch, his brother, Charles Forrest and his sister, Charlene Moore preceded him in death.
Norman was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy abroad, stationed on a U.S.S. L.S.M. 233 in the South Pacific. Norman owned and operated Forrest Market House of Fine Meats for 39 years serving North St. Louis and South County before retiring in 1990. Norman was truly a fighter. Norman outlived many doctors estimations before ultimately succumbing to cancer. Norman has touched many lives and hearts. As the owner of a market Norman would never forget a face no matter how long it had been. In his full life he shared many stories. He never hesitated to tell of his dancing skills which was truly one of his passions. He made sure to remind you of his strength in a firm grip. He always wanted to know how others were. Over the years Norman opened his heart and home to many friends and family in need. He never hesitated when he could help someone. May he rejoin his late wife Dorothy whom he lovingly called 'Mama' and may they now dance their days away in heaven. 'If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.'Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Hello Glen & Charlie Forrest:

We're so sorry upon your Mother's

recent death and your Father's

death on 11/14/'05.

They both were so nice and friendly

as well as you 2 were while they

operated the Family Meat & Grocery

Store on So. Broadway at E. Velma.

We offer our condolences to both of

you, and all of your family.

We lived at 237 E. Velma, and your

Store was a God Send to us for 19

years. I have Cerebral Palsy, which

caused a Speech impairment, among

other things, and my Dear Wife was

totally deaf, but all of you had

such compassion & understanding in

your Profession, it made it much

more easier for us to enjoy our

shopping at the friendilest store in

town. It is with that said, our love

for you made some memories of all of you last for 19 years, while the Store was there, and still does.

We shall never forget. Thank you.

May both of you prosper and enjoy life, despite your most loved ones

losses.

Yours truly, Bill & Shirley

LaRose
