Peter Likes

1935 - 2026

Peter William Likes passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 90 after a brief illness. Born on February 11, 1935, in St. Louis, MO, Peter was the son of Henry and Adele Likes. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Jean Ainsworth Likes, his brother Henry Theodore Likes (Marguerite) and sister Carroll Grace Likes. Peter attended Washington University earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and where he was a member of the Theta Xi fraternity. After graduation, he served in the United States Army. Peter had a successful career at the Hussmann Corporation serving in several capacities during his almost 40 years there. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the piano (ragtime was his favorite) and playing golf. Peter loved his family. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Thompson, two grandchildren; Casey (Ben) and Christopher, one great-grandchild; Colter, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter's kindness, thoughtfulness and incredible sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Services: A funeral service will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Michael and St. George, 6345 Wydown Blvd, St. Louis, MO.
