As a fairly young lawyer, I met Phil in the mid to late 1970s. I don´t remember the matter, but it involved the family real estate business. The law firm for which I was working represented him and the business.
What I do remember is what a kind man he was and the respect with which he treated me.

I was sorry to learn of Coach's passing.
The city benefited from his commitment to affordable quality housing.
I personally benefited from playing on the Optimist baseball team he coached. It's probably fair to say that I had no competition for being the least talented person on his team--and I didn't go to the same school as the rest of the players as well, but I got to see his patience, fairness and sportsmanship, and his example served me well later in life.
To his family, we are sorry for your loss, and thank you for sharing him with us.
May his memory be a blessing.

Mr Baron was my high school hockey coach. He nick named me "Whistle Britches" and was always very supportive of my play and development. He was an inspiration and a great man!
