Phillip Hampton Obituary

Hampton, Phillip Jewel Artist and Professor passed away Sat., Dec. 17, 2016. Beloved husband to late Dorothy Smith; adoring father to Harry and the late Keith Hampton; loving grandfather to Noel (Raffeal) Tenner, Nicole (Gregory) Dorsey, Phillip (Wing) Hampton, Kavon Robinson; great-grandfather to Milik Hampton, Ore Tenner; son of the late Wilma Jones and the late Cordell Daniels; brother to the late Raymond Daniels; and father-in-law to Gloria Allen. Loved by his extended family, C.C. Smith: His companion for 23 years, Johnetta Haley; her daughter Karen Douglas; her grandson Jonathan (Jessica) Douglas; and great-grandson Braylon Douglas. Phillip was a strong, thoughtful, considerate, caring and supportive man who gave freely and expected nothing in return. He cherished the tinniest jester of appreciation. His unconditional and humorless nature will be greatly missed. Services: Wednesday, December 28, Austin Lane Mortuary, 7733 Natural Bridge Rd, Visitation 10 am until Service at 11 am. Burial Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.

We only had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hampton once, decades ago, when he was kind enough to sell us one of his paintings, which we still treasure. He was a lovely man and a great talent. We are sorry for your loss.
