Survived by his wife, Chris; daughters Amanda and Kara Bray Moreno; sister Julie Moreno Hamilton and father Carlos Buddy Moreno; Ric was the best and most loving husband and father. Ric was a committed mental health practitioner and mentor. He had a very strong belief in the Jesuit teachings and lived his life to help others. Cycling for Ric was the closest thing to heaven. We will love him always. Go Billikens! I was shocked and saddened by the news of Ric's tragic passing today. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. I know he'll be watching over you from heaven.

Rick. I really enjoyed the early years on Allan Drive. The marathon Monopoly tournaments and shooting baskets at the Gill's. Swimming at Gene Wynn's house. And especially getting drum lessons from you. You deserved better than this. Sympathy to you family, especially Buddy. They didn't deserve this either. - Albert Fischer

To the Moreno family: I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. I knew him from way back at DMH and at DDS. He was always kind, compassionate, and above all, he made a huge difference in this world to many people who needed help. He has left a legacy and changed lives, selflessly. My prayers are with you as you adjust to the tragedy, and please keep in mind that many people are holding you in our hearts. He was a great man.

Ric, I am having such a difficult time understanding that my friend is gone. Our friendship began 35 years ago when we worked together in the OR at Christian NE. I still cherish the times we spent together, listening to bands, following you to YOUR "gigs", hanging out in your parents music room, where you taught me how to play chess. ( a testimony to your kindness and patience). I even loved going to the junk yard with you on weekends where you gathered parts to fix up your MG. We had some great times running around in that thing once you got it running... I loved hanging out with your mom and dad and Julie as they introduced me to the St.Louis culture. There are so many memories, and I will forever cherish our friendship..... Chris, Amanda and Kara, my heart breaks for you as you face the future without him. I want to thank you for giving him such a wonderful life as your husband and dad. He will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace my dear old friend.

Dr Moreno made a huge impact on my mother's mental health. His calm, kind manner & huge smile was a weekly highlight for her. Words fall short of the gratitude I wish to convey. Dr Richard will be deeply missed.
May his family find peace in knowing how many lives he touched & changed for the better.
God bless & comfort all those who loved & knew him.

I was so sad to hear about Rick. I knew him in high school and a few years beyond when we ran around with the Gill brothers in Florissant. At the time, Rick seemed to live in the shadow of his show business parents.

It was so good to hear of his family and professional career. I know his focus changed when Chris came into his life, and he was able to share his natural warmth and humanity with others. I'm so sorry for your loss.
